Detrell serves as Advocacy & Policy Coordinator at LA Emissary, supporting youth advocates across Los Angeles County to influence policy and funding decisions related to youth homelessness. His work focuses on shifting power to young people with lived experience and strengthening youth capacity to engage in systems-level advocacy.

Originally from Detroit, Detrell entered the youth homelessness system after moving to Los Angeles in 2021. His background in advocacy and organizing informs his commitment to empowering young people to use their voices to create countywide and community-level change.

Outside of work, Detrell is an artist who creates music and performs as a singer and voguer in the ballroom community.
